Gorgeous... I do have to say the tulip style tuning keys compliment the Gibson headstock much better. But who pays attention to detail...right? Lol

In terms of the Epiphone LP, will need to be upgraded and refined. My thoughts, I'll choose Epi before a Gibson as my Epi's are seriously upgraded.

I have 7 or so Epiphones (Korean) and most have been converted with Gibson USA parts. Black beauty 3 pups. White one florentine Epi, as well as others. All of my headstocks are all gibson open book with gibson truss rod cover with double binding.

I had one and it sounded terrible, so I ended up selling it. I got a 2021 Epiphone Les Paul Custom and slapped some EMG ZW Pickup set in it. The guitar sounds amazing and way better than the Prophecy model.

i stain my light fretboards with acid and metal. i make a solution with acid household or vinegar and a a metal mesh. let it sit for 1 week and rub it on. it penetrates 1 mm and doesnt come off unlike a stain. it is deep black and you can sand it back if you dont like it

I know a bloke with those two. I was giving his epiphone a good thrashing on his 800 . I was already in delight. Unexpectedly he handed me the Gibson to swap. They were 57 custom ebony cred for extremely well. I didn't bother looking at it just continue on playing the best solo in the whole wide world. Within seconds the frets under the strings,,,, smooth silky,, fukn tripping. Seconds to minutes id been all over it bent the fuck out of every string almost everywhere then I knew 100% that comparing the epiphone to the Gibson was like chalk and cheese, sugar and shit, Britney or Oprah with out doubt the Gibson fretboard is far superior than anything I'd played before and since. I didn't notice anything else about em. I was high before I played them only to get a real high from playing the Gibson thru 800. It was 50watta too so it was fukn hot alright. The kinda hot that if some fuckwit spills a beer or a bong in the 800 it'll just vapourise and keep playing hotter than your idea of hot as fuck. . I've seen that before. I definitely know epi's phoneys extremely well. I have 5 of them. I don't want one of them until I had 1 . Then that's it isn't it? All other guitars are shit compared to an archtop Les Paul. Except stratocasters of course. Like strats are better than any other fender. Everything else sounds sounds like plastic shit. All of emm not other gibsons and fenders they're ok. But yeah all those brands are crazy crappy sounding no matter what you do to them. They're like little girly guitars for girls and girly boys. You see it takes balls to tame strats and les paul on 10. Or 8 & 9. No feedback fear hear. If you haven't got a les paul yet get one. Or just keep dumping on the compression sustain distortion overdrive and those pissy fukn lame wah wah fukn wah crybaby pedals on what ever piece of shit guitar you already have thinking they're great but deep down you know like rest of us there's only two real guitars everything is fake . Even fake great is fake. If you made it this far you're not too fucked unless you actually have a les paul and you don't like it? In that case stay home with yourself and that other massive bunch of butholes that only play strats or fenders. What's better than a sweet stratocaster? A stratocaster with a rose wood fretboard? Or maybe a archtop super strat. Like Michael Batio has.

Nice comparison! Eliminating the price point, I still prefer Gibson's crunch and high gain, something "more" with the Gibson, maybe the word "full" you described? and I'm wondering how Tokai would sound when using the Gibson's pickup, BTW the 23:54 lifting style is kick ass!

Something is going on with the fretjob on the 21 and 22nd frets under the low e string. Looks odd id have taken it back and told him to make those fret ends look like the others. You can clearly see they dont match the other fret ends on the bass side of the fret board at 6:07 in the video and again at 10:47. If that was the "new fret job", i wouldnt have given a dime for that work till it was fixed.

Bought my used 2018 prophecy plus last year in brand new condition for 300 bucks. I converted the stock 9 volt system over to 18 volts, it is a very easy modification to do and gives the guitar a noticeable punch to the tone. The prophecy is an amazing guitar and rivals the quality and sound of a gibson or fender costing twice as much. Really love it!
